Why?
The rapid rise in crime makes residents feel unsafe and prevents businesses from wanting to invest in our city.
How?
My plan is simple: work with our city manager to put more cops on the streets. I also want to create opportunities for law enforcement to have a positive role in our city through community events and youth programs.
When?
One of my top priorities is crime prevention, so I plan to work with city staff to review our contract with the sheriff’s department as soon as I begin. I want to know how much it truly costs the city to hire more officers, and how we can make that a reality as soon as possible.
